As Carter gave way to Reagan, Acoustic Control made -- for a short time -- this brown series of amplifiers. Some were tube driven, some solid state; some were large, some were small. All were made with good speakers, good cabinets, good components.

The G20-110 represents the smaller, solid-state part of that group. It's still quite dependable -- and very portable, weighing just about 20 lbs. It does show its age -- small marks and such on every side -- just enough to give it authenticity, without looking abused. It's gotten me through quieter gigs, and even the occasional loud one -- that 10" squareback speaker cuts through pretty well.

The overdrive sounds 70s, and the reverb is just enough to add some dimension. It's great for recording, with an output on back for that purpose. It's not going to do 80s metal or modern extreme sounds; this amp comes from warmer-toned days.
These days it's more trendy to have a monster rig with a thousand settings. But the fact is that most of us favor one really good signature sound. This is that kind of amp.
